Don't Ever, Ever board Vehicle at the Road Side !!!

My neighbour’s friend travelled from Gombe State to Jos in Plateau state. This would have been a routine journey for her as she is a business woman. On this fateful Sunday, instead of going to the motor park as usual, she decided to stand by the road side to board a station wagon from Gombe to Jos. She flagged down the car and it stopped. Madam where you dey go? the driver asked. I am going to Jos, she answered. The driver then asked her to enter and that he too is going to Jos. Mean while there were three other men in the Car. One was sleeping, the other reading newspaper while the other one even came out and helped to put her load in the boot.

Immediately they started the journey the man who helped her started jisting with her. He complained about his bad luck in life with women. The first love of his life at age of 23 left him for a richer man. The second woman eloped with one of his friends and the present one is giving him sleepless nights with her drinking and chasing of men both single and married. After sometime the woman said she could not understand herself again as she felt weak and sleepy. The man then asked her to give him her two phones (Blackberry and Nokia) which she did. He then collected her hand bag and started ransacking it. She was just watching him like a movie. She could not shout or move !!! It was then that
she fell into a deep sleep. She later work up by the road side. They had removed her gold necklace, gold bracelet, gold ring. The only valuable thing they did not remove was her wedding gold ring and that was because htey tried using plier to remove it but it did not come because her finger had grown bigger than the ring. they tried forcing it but it did not come out, this then made the hand swollen. She then stood by the road side( around 6.30pm) all efforts to stop buses and cars passing by proved abortive because people were afraid to stop thinking it was a gimmick to rob them untill a police patrol team came around. She explained what happened to her so the kind Policemen brought her to her sister's house. She later reported the case to the Police Station close to their house and went back home.

The next day being Monday, she decided to go to the bank where she would use her ATM to withdraw some money for her transport back home. She then discovered that her two ATMs were missing !!! She rushed inside the bank to tell the bank to stop any withdrawal via any of the ATMs, when the lady at the customer care checked her account, she told her " Madam the Thief used your ATM to withdraw N45,000 yesterday !! She became hysterical, but people advised her to thank God that her life was spared, considering the increase in ritual killing during Ember months. She further reported the case to the Police who promised to look into the case. But one question that bothered everybody is: "How did they know the woman's PIN number? How did they know whether she operates a Savings or Current Account? Could it be that they asked her the questions and she answered them? If that is the case, then Nigerian Jazz (medicine) is really strong.

She later got some money from her Sister and went back to Gombe State. But if I get any update on the case I will let you know. So please if you are travelling, DO NOT BOARD VEHICLE ON THE ROAD !!! Go to the Motor Park where the drivers are known, and passengers write their names and addresses on the Passenger Manifest before any journey. One may not be as lucky as this woman who at least escaped with her Life.
