Install Whatsapp on Nokia Asha 200 and other Java phones

Installing Whatsapp on Nokia Asha 200 and other Java phones is very simple. Just follow the steps I am going to give below and do it. I have installed it on Asha 200, 205  and other Java phones for more than 20 people now. Even if you don't have these phones, help your friend or neighbour so that we can all be connected online. Do theses steps:
* Make sure you move items from your phone memory to memory card so that you have at least 3 mb empty space.
* Have N100 in the phone  OR 5mb for browsing and at least N10  because Whatsapp will send a text message to confirm your number during installation.
* If you have 2 SIM phone, Remove the other SIM that you will not use, after the installation, you can put it back.

We will have to download these two files from internet
1. Download this file by pasting this link in your browser

2. Download this file too by copy and pasting this link into your browser

3. Copy the 2 downloaded files to anywhere in your memory card using USB cord from a computer. Or you can download it on a friend's phone then send it through blue tooth to your phone.

4. Go to your memory card where you have the two files, (some times they will merge and become one) copy them to Application or Games folder in phone memory.

5. Now DO NOT OPEN ANY OF THE FILES FOR NOW !!! Go to where you kept the first files and delete them.

6. Press the button that brings up OPTIONS, it is the first key by your left on Nokia Asha. See pic below, Press the button covered by the red circle
7. Press UPDATE VERSION, the phone will now connect to internet and download the recent version.

8. When the downloading finishes, It will ask you : OPEN FILE NOW, FILE DOWNLOADED TO MY APPS. Press YES

9. You will now see the Whatsapp page come up, then you will see something like UPDATING NOTIFICATIONS ENABLER, just be patient and allow it.

10. You will now see a Whatsapp screen asking you whether you want to continue, PRESS YES and you will now be taken to another page to input your Phone number.

11. You will See 234   just put your phone number in the box without the first zero e.g my number is 08032251009, so i will put it like this 8032251009. It will now start connecting and ask you that it wants to SEND VERIFICATION SMS to your number, Accept it

12. It will now ask you for NAME that people will be seeing when you are in Whatsapp. Put any name of your choice. then click Next/Continue

13. You will see something like YOU HAVE 12 MONTHS OF SERVICE, Press NEXT.

14. Whatsapp will begin setting up your favourites. Just WAIT, you will see a blue bar loading just wait. The whatsapp HOME SCREEN will now appear. That is all.

15. You can now begin using whatsapp. All your phone contacts that are on whatsapp will automatically show. That's all.
NOTE: YOU CANNOT DOWNLOAD THE 2 FILES ON ASHA PHONE AND INSTALL ON THE SAME PHONE, DOWNLOAD FROM ANOTHER PHONE AND SEND TO THE PHONE YOU WANT TO INSTALL IT ON.

      1. What I mean is you will need at least 5 mb of internet data to install whatsapp.

      2.During installation, your phone will send 2 text messages to whatsapp server, so you should have some amount of money on your phone that can send 2 messages before installing whatsapp

    2. How can I copy whatsapp to game or application beacuse when i copy from memory card to phone its showing only gallary...
    3. I just copied it to image folder and updated it successfully... when i launched it ... it gave a notification 'not supported'. still i dismissed the pop up and continued. it said enabling notification... i put my no... and then it gives the message server couldnt be connceted...

    Now if any solution is there... pls help...

      It actually does not matter where you paste the files in your phone. I think you got that error due to network problem from your service provider. Try again

      Dear Saumya, I am using Reliance GSM no 9014517422 (Andhrapradesh, India)... First two days I faced the network problm. One late night I tried and it got the process completed... Normally Airtel, Vodafone and Reliance wont have any problem.... U just keep trying

      Check whether your phone can browse other websites. If it cannot, then the problem is your browsing settings. If you are able to browse other sites, then do this:

      It means it not compactible with your phone, I am sure you are not using a Nokia Asha 200. BUT if you are using ASHA 200, delete some things from your phone Internal memory and try Installing it again

    setting up favourite failed ==, the percentage is always the same everytime so there's no way because of connection line,, btw when i increase the number of people my phone & bsim contact the percentage increase! try it! i manage to make it till 97% though, i heard u need 2 sim card to make it work

    I got all these errors and screens while trying to get whatsapp working on Asha 200. Reading another article I think, I added more contacts and the Setting up Favorites screen reached from 60% to 74%, however failed.

    Right now I restarted the phone & now get message upon starting the whatsapp - version 2.12.25 already open.

    How to get this working now ?

    Thanks Nicholas Hon and/or baba2023 for those detailed steps. Got whatsapp installed on my Nokia Asha 200. Only Notification Enabler is not supported; but WhatsApp is working... Brilliant!!!
    Other guys: try it late at night and keep trying. 2nd or 3rd time it is going to work. Trust me it worked for me!!!
