Mtn is giving out N400 free credit to its customers for updating their SIM card information. If at the time of your SIM card registration, there were some vital information that were not gotten from you, you may get an SMS from 799 asking you to update your information. I had to call Mtn Customer care (180) to verify the text before replying and they told me it was from Mtn. This is the SMS sent to me:Yello! Your SIM registration information is incomplete,
kindly reply this text with your STATE OF ORIGIN
(e.g Lagos, FCT, Kano) and get N400 MTN2MTN call.
SMS is Free. Thank you.
One of my friends got the following text from Mtn:
Yello! Your SIM registration information is incomplete,
kindly reply this text with your MOTHER'S MAIDEN
NAME and receive N400 MTN2MTN call.
SMS is Free. Thank you.
I tried it by sending Benue to 799 and after some minutes I got this reply:
Yello! You have successfully updated your STATE OF
ORIGIN and you have received N400 MTN2MTN call
usable btw 10pm-5pm, expires 09/Jun/2013.Thank you.
I immediately dialed *559# and saw the N400 there. So when you get a message from 799 do not ignore it.

My brother tried it and MTN gave him N400. He was afraid that it was 419 people initially, but after reading your post, he tried it and was given N400.
