Cancel/Undo a sent email in Gmail (Recall)

Human beings are prone to make mistakes at one time or the other especially when sending emails. You can make mistakes in figures, typing errors, attachments, sentences etc. Gmail has now included a feature where you can recall back any message that you have sent to someone. This will reduce the embarrassing situations that people find themselves when they send a wrong email to clients, friends, associates, business partners and loved ones. Below are the simple steps to take when you
want to activate the feature for your gmail because it is normally turned off by default.
1. Login to your gmail account
2. Click on that small gear wheel under your profile pic. See the pic below

3. A drop down menu will appear and show you 8 items, Click on SETTINGS.
4. You will see many TABS appear, click on GENERAL, it is circle in the pic below

5. Scroll down and you will see Undo Send:  Tick the small box in front of ENABLE UNDO SEND, you can now choose the cancellation period which is from 5 seconds to 30 seconds.

6. You can now click SAVE CHANGES.
7. When next you send an email, you will see the below picture on top of your email box. If you click UNDO, the message will not be delivered.

8. After the cancellation period is over you will then see YOUR MESSAGE HAS BEEN SENT. At this point there is nothing you can do about the email again because it must have been delivered.

So there you have it. Gmail has moved yet another step higher than other email clients. We hope that with time, the maximum cancellation period will be extended to at least one minute because the 30 seconds seems to be inadequate for many users.
